We have had a great response to our launch with nearly 2,000 sign-ups since we made the mobile apps available. Now we would love to see more of you get active on the platform and to encourage that we will be launching several contests over the next couple of months. The first competition will run between July 18 and 25 (2018) and to participate you should log at least 2 public activities on CA during that period each with video or photos included.

Please see our Facebook post or our CA post for more details on how to participate, the prizes and how the winners will be selected.

Why did we create Combat Academy?
How have you been keeping track of you martial arts training efforts, belt tests and competition results? Perhaps with pen and paper in a journal? Perhaps in a custom-made spreadsheet? Or perhaps not at all?

Have you ever wished that there was an app that allowed you to keep track of these things in a better way, with the ability to save all your stats and efforts for future analysis, capture video and photos from your training sessions, set and track progress towards goals and give and receive feedback from your coach and the community?

If so we have something in common! Combat Academy was created by a small group of fitness and tech enthusiasts who felt that combat sports athletes and fans should have access to software that would allow them to do all those things and much more. You can read more about the story in our recent blog post.

We launched our web-app in January, the iOS app in May and finally the Android app in early June. Currently the web-app is a bit more feature rich than the mobile apps (you can read about some of the additional features in the next section) but over time we will close this feature gap and we plan to add plenty of new features to all the apps.

In our next newsletter we hope to tell you a bit more about our development roadmap. In the meantime, if you have any feature suggestions at all, please feel free to let us know here, and as always, if you have any general questions or comments you can let us know here.

Have you checked out our web-app?
Most of our new users join Combat Academy from our iOS or Android apps and some of you may not even be aware that we also have a very capable web-app. If you have not done so yet we encourage you to check it out. It can be accessed here and you log in with the same user name and password as you use for the mobile app. The web-app works best from a desktop or laptop computer. Most of the screens also work on an iPad. If you only have a mobile device you should continue to use the mobile apps though.

The web-app has some features that are not yet available in the mobile apps. This includes a more powerful people search, the ability to search for specific activities and stored techniques, the ability to use custom tags for your stored techniques and, not least, the ability to view charts of your time and technique stats. Head over to our recent blog post to learn more about some of these features.
