In these challenging times, we realize many of you are undergoing significant disruptions to your daily lives. This includes disruptions to your work, social life, free time, and workout programs. While your usual gym is probably shut down for the foreseeable future, that’s no reason to give up on your goals and training routine. Now more than ever, it’s important to get exercise to stay healthy both mentally and physically.

Some of the greats are already training hard at home. But you don’t need to be a pro to make the most of your quarantine workouts. We would like to take this opportunity to provide some home workout inspiration. One of the biggest challenges with adjusting to exercising at home is the lack of structure. If you require motivation, inspiration, or you’re looking for a structured exercise routine, carry on reading this post as we share three home workout programs that are well suited for martial artists.

1. No Gym Boxing/MMA Workout by Shane from fightTIPS

One of our favorites at Combat Academy, Shane from fightTIPS, shares an excellent workout that requires no equipment and is designed for martial artists. This is a great routine to get stuck into because all the exercises are marital arts movements, so by doing this program, you’ll develop your strength and conditioning while becoming more comfortable with movements such as sprawls, pivots, kicks, and more!

So, if you’re ready to get going, we recommend you look at the video for further instruction and target completing the workout three times and week for a month. Who’s up for the challenge?

2. 12-Move MMA Workout from Bas Rutten

The MMA legend Bas Rutten shared an MMA workout, which will put you to the test! This workout requires a few pieces of equipment, including a medicine ball, kettlebell, and punching bag/shield. However, if you can’t get your hands on the equipment, feel free to substitute an alternative or replace the exercise.

What’s valuable about the program Bas recommends is that it makes use of the circuit format, which requires you to push yourself through a huge variety of exercises. Doing this not only keeps the workout exciting but also ensures you can develop your entire body for both endurance and strength. From our point of view, only the insane will try the workout in its entirety; if you’re looking for a milder workout, feel free to split the exercises into two different workouts.
