Combat Academy Tip #1: Store and Analyze your training videos to improve your progression.

Like a QB in the film room, it’s crucial for any athlete to review their form on a regular basis. By uploading your workouts in the Combat Academy App, you have constant access to every single workout recorded. Additionally, with web and mobile applications you can access and review any workout or video anywhere, anytime. This allows you to review your technique, find where you can improve, and see your progression as you compare newer videos to older ones where you performed the same move or technique.

Combat Academy Tip #2: Set Goals – Improve your Progression and Results

Psychologist, entrepreneurs and experts in various fields have been saying it for years…WRITE DOWN YOUR GOALS AND TRACK THEM. There’s something to it, and study after study has shown that to progress further and achieve the success you want you not only need to write down your goals but track them.

Dr. Gail Matthews, a psychology professor at the Dominican University in California, studied the art and science of goal setting. Her conclusion – You become 42% more likely to achieve your goals, simply by writing them down on a regular basis [1].

In a study on a MBA program at Harvard, graduate students were asked, if they had set clear, written goals for their futures. After 10 years the follow up results were astonishing. Of the 13% who had goals in their mind but hadn’t written them down, the group had earned twice as much as the group (84% of the total group) who had not written down anything at all. Even more shocking was the 3 percent of students who had written down clear goals and plans to accomplish them. This group on average earned 10 times as much as the other 97 percent combined [2].

If you need a reference to MMA, just think of the Notorious, Connor McGregor. In 2007, after turning pro, said he would someday accomplish his goal of becoming the UFC lightweight champion. In 2015 he accomplished that goal.

3 different examples, all showing one thing, to effectively achieve success you need to write your goals down. If you want to increase your success even more then you should be tracking your goals as well. Luckily, Combat Academy has an easy way to do this for all your combat sports training.

Combat Academy Tip #3: Search and add friends

This one is easy and simple. We all like to have a community around us and people who share a common interest. By having a community, we can not only draw support and encouragement, but also find ways to support others. Through this whole community building process you can learn from others in the process as well. Being a platform for all Combat sports athletes and enthusiast, makes it easy for you to connect to a community that shares your passion in combat sports and grow with others across the country and even the world. In a single click you can search any public profile on the platform. Add a filter and begin to narrow people down by location, and/or sport .

Combat Academy Tip #4: Use Stored techniques – to find and share other videos

With our easy to use stored techniques feature you can add, tag, and save videos with just a click. Whether it’s your own video or someone else’s Combat Academy makes it easy to save videos to your stored techniques and find them again later. Pull them up on your computer or phone, the videos sync across all devices. This is a great tool for training as it allows you to not only study and review your own technique, as we mentioned earlier in the power of video blog post, but also see your progression, and areas of improvement. You can also study and tag other people’s videos who demonstrate sound or superior technique and use them as training videos to easily study and reference too.

Combat Academy Tip #5: Celebrate the Achievements and Accomplishments with CA Badges

With Combat Academy’s digital badges we make it easy and enjoyable to celebrate your achievements. As you build your community support and interaction, you will unlock more and more achievements.
